This paper explores how a Trinitarian and relational interpretation of the imago Dei can help to liberate the notion of disability from the bonds of social and theological prejudice. My thesis is that a relational interpretation of the imago Dei can help us rethink the dualism of abled versus disabled that so often leads to the dehumanization of people with disabilities. More generally, such an interpretation can lead us to a new appreciation for the place of interdependency and vulnerability in human nature.nb_NO
