This master's thesis in children's culture and art pedagogy is a qualitative examination of the aesthetic approach to learning in primary and lower secondary schools. In this master's thesis, the aesthetic approach to learning or aesthetic learning processes and experiences is understood as a way of learning where one has a sensuous approach to learning. In the curriculum for primary and lower secondary school, creative learning processes are considered a prerequisite for pupils' learning, education and identity development. In order to refine the task, and sharpen my focus, the focus is on 6-7-year old children. Arts and crafts were used as the framework for my research. My desire as a teacher was to find new perspectives that make it possible to see learning based on a greater understanding where one takes into account the child with body, cognition, sense and feelings as a whole, and link it to the curriculum of Norwegian primary school. Theory connected to learning and education creates a frame for my research.
